My Research & Publications

My PhD research focuses on one of the most pressing issues in today’s digital age: children’s online safety and the challenges of age verification.

As the internet becomes an integral part of children’s lives, it is crucial to balance their right to access information and learn in a digital environment with the need to protect them from potential harm.

The research explores innovative approaches to ensuring that online platforms can accurately verify a user's age without infringing on privacy. This includes analysing current age verification methods, their limitations, and how they can be improved to provide stronger safeguards for children.

Through a combination of technical analysis, policy review, and real-world development of privacy preserving age verification methods, my research aims to propose practical solutions that strike a balance between usability, privacy, and protection. The ultimate goal is to contribute to a future where children can explore the digital world safely and responsibly, with platforms that are equipped to safeguard their experience without compromising their personal information.
